Marketer. Author. Actress. Speaker. Advocate for women. With her career evolving from advertising director at Avon, to CEO of global advertising agency NWAyer, to successful entrepreneur and catalyst for good works, Mary Lou is a master of reinvention.
Just Ask a Woman, her marketing company, has advised over 100 blue chip clients, including Wells Fargo, American Express, Estee Lauder, GlaxoSmithKline and Saks Fifth Avenue. The three business books she authored What She’s Not Telling You; Time Off for Good Behavior; and Just Ask a Woman have been widely read and have been the subject of her speeches at corporate conferences.
Her latest book, The God Box, Sharing My Mother’s Gift of Faith, Love and Letting Go (Worthy Publishing, 2012) became a New York Times bestseller in just three weeks. With publication rights bought in Brazil, China, Spain, Korea, the UK, Australia and South Africa, The God Box Project is fast becoming a global movement, including a vibrant online community, a series of short films, a mobile app and a one woman play written and performed by Mary Lou, with all proceeds going to local women’s cancer and healthcare charities around the US.
Mary Lou has written articles and columns for Real Simple; O, the Oprah magazine; and MORE. Regularly appearing as a marketing expert in the media, she was a correspondent on The CBS EARLY Show and a judge on the premiere season of the ABC series “American Inventor” with Simon Colwell.Mary Lou received an MBA from Fordham University and an Honorary Doctorate in Communications from her alma mater Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. She lives in NYC with her husband Joe and her Kings Charles Spaniel, Rocky.
